Rabid Hardware reviews the Zalman CNPS 5100CU CPU cooler Right away when I opened the box I was pretty impressed - included was thermal compound (although the generic kind), a fan controller for increasing/decreasing fan speed (officially named the Fan Mate 1), and spare parts. Next it was time to drool over the heatsink itself. Weighing in at 454grams (that's about 167.3 quarts/PSI for you imperial system people) this sure wasn't in the bantam class of heatsinks. Zalman even warns that this is above the AMD heatsink mass specification, so "special care should be taken when moving the computer." I really don't think that should be much of a problem, as the heatsink actually bolts to the motherboard (much like the Alpha Pal 8045). Tech-Report reviews both the Samsung's SW-240 and SM-332 optical drives A lot of optical drives may look very similar, but performance can vary quite a bit, despite advertised speeds. Today we're looking at two optical drives from Samsung, a screaming-fast 40X CD-RW, and an all-in-one CD-RW/DVD combo drive that's no slouch in the speed department, either. How do the drives compare? Which is faster where? Read on to find out. |
