The new standard, released by the MultiMediaCard Association (MMCA), gives a picture of drastically improved performance of future MMCs. The three highlights of the new standard are wider bus-bandwidth (x1 bit, x4 bit and x8 bit), higher clock frequency (from 20 MHz to 26 MHz and 52 MHz), & dual-voltage operation (both 3.3 V and 1.8 V).
