| New IE spoofing vulnerability |
| Thursday, 11 December 2003 | |
| A new vulnerability in Microsoft's Internet Explorer allows attackers to spoof URLs, which may lead users to believe that they are providing their personal info to one website, when in fact they may be giving it to another. Users could also be fooled into believing, say, that they're downloading the latest winamp from winamp.com, when in fact they're downloading a trojan, or virus from some other random webserver. eWeek says that Microsoft will not release any security bulletins for the month of December, so I guess we'll have to wait till 2004 for this one to be fixed. Careful what you click on.... | |
