AMDs joint flash memory venture with Fujitsu (FASL) seems to be doing fairly well. The two fabs that are run by FASL will be ramped up over the next few months to produce 30% more chips than they did this year.Over 60% of the company's total output will be dedicated to the new 110nm process "mirror-bit" flash devices. Demand is high, & that's great for AMD & Fujitsu. This move was hinted at in the press conference given by AMD in Boston last week. Full story at EETimes. |
