This is certainly a step in the right direction for the network kings. If they'd stuck to their old practices, sooner or later, they'd have been losing contracts due to long-term replacement costs, etc. The first model in Cisco's new line of upgradable routers will be the Cisco 12800 core router. Cisco hopes this move will help most in their business with telephone companies, who have almost all cut spending recently, & who regularly replace their routers every two years.
