| MSI announces new power tech for video cards |

MSI is debuting their E 3 PowerCube technology on their FX5600 series of videocards. The PowerCube is actually composed of two inductors, & the goal of the cube is to enhance the "conditioning" of the power/current going to the GPU. Not only that, it also apparently "greatly reduces the heat generated by the two MOS tubes." So basically, the PowerCube is an improvement over MOS tubes for power regulation on circuit boards. This technology was apparently very hard to nail down, as working with two inductors in-tandem is not the easiest thing to do. I myself am not an electrical engineer, so you may want to read the whole press release here. |
