In an SEC filing  Intel confirms that it faces a nationwide class action lawsuit over claims that the Pentium 3's were actually faster than the Pentium 4's.  Which is funny, because there's documented proof that an SMP enabled system running multiple Pentium 3 Xeon processors is actually faster than a system running the same number of Pentium 4 Xeons, yet Intel has been pushing companies to upgrade to P4 Xeon based systems..  I think it's funny that a friend of mine had to upgrade to a P4 2.2GHz to finally beat my 3dMark scores on my Athlon 1900+, and with a minor tweak on my system I can easily outbench him....  Full story over at The Inquirer here.
