RIAA sues 750 college kids
Friday, 29 October 2004

I guess the RIAA's finally going after the high-traffic areas. I mean, seriously, where better to trade music than on a college campus. Thousands of kids & their music collections on a high-bandwidth network... Not that there's anything wrong with it, of course, but I'm surprised it took them this long...

"The music labels' trade association is a little more than a year into its strategy of suing individual file-swappers for copyright infringement, a campaign it hopes will sharply curtail the rate of MP3-swapping on networks such as Kazaa and eDonkey."
