Western Digital offers $20 Hard Drive Warranty Upgrade

From the "Yank the Freebies out from under them and then charge for it department . . ." I found this article on the Tech Report which talks about Western Digital offering an extended warranty for their Hard Drives for $20. Is it just me, or is this completely asenine? I mean, they cut back their warranties on their hard drives in the first place and now they want to CHARGE you to get them back?
