AOL "struggling"
Friday, 12 December 2003

I think this should fall into the, "no sh!t sherlock" category. CNet is reporting that, "AOL is struggling..." Heh. Maybe the fact that we've got 14yr-olds able to hack into corporate banks & the fact that cable/DSL internet is becoming much more widely available should signal that the days of idiot-proof dial-up services are no longer needed? Maybe.... & don't even think about bringing up that "AOL for broadband" crap.

"AOL is trying to find itself," said Greg Smith, director of media practice at Carat Interactive, a New York-based agency. "It's trying to figure out what sort of a media company it is and how they're going to relate to consumers and advertisers."

At this point, w/the kids growing up as tech-savvy as they are these days, maybe AOL should start focusing on the elderly as the last valid market for products like theirs? That just my $.02. Full story here.
