iTunes sees its 250 millionth download

I guess this means that people have fully bought into the whole pay-for system regarding downloading music, doesn't it? Furthermore, what does it all mean for the CD makers?

"The company said that its iTunes Music Store, now available in 15 countries, accounts for 70 percent of the global music market. Though Apple took 11 months to sell the first 50 million songs, the downloads picked up subsequently, hitting the 200 million mark by last December."
