AMD demonstrates dual-core chips
Tuesday, 31 August 2004

Well, the story we ran about the dual-core chips being just around the corner seem to have been right on the money. DigiTimes is running a story this morning covering the first successful demonstration of AMD's x86 dual-core chip running in an HP ProLiant server.

"AMD plans to introduce a full dual-core processor line-up for the one- to eight-socket server and workstation market in mid-2005 based on the existing 940-pin socket. Dual-core processors for the client market are expected to follow in the second half of 2005."
