Well, I've just finished Day 2 of PC Expo with one day to go. There's a lot of interesting stuff here, and I'm sorting it all out for you. I should have some meat for you soon.
Some interesting things at PC Expo: 1. Intel has explained to me thier next generation of processor, and their hopes for the future. I will detail these soon. Hyperthreading fans, be happy - hyperthreading will be in the next processor put out for the consumer. (Currently it is in server class processors only.) 2. AMD explained to me thier approach to 64 bit, and why they're not leaving people high and dry when it comes to compatibility. 3. Color Laser Printing - Photo Quality is not all it's cracked up to be in many cases, but it's not all bad. In addition, Color Laser has made it under the $2000 mark. 4. An old form of storage with a new twist: Magneto-Optical drives. What makes this new breed of MO drives so special? Stay tuned to find out.
I'll be back with more tomorrow. |
