Just when you thought it was all over . . . imagine my surprise when I went to DiscGamer.Com today and found out that Sierra is making a new Tribes. Dubbed, Tribes Fast Attack, the game is more of an expansion pack that comes with an upgraded version of Tribes 2.

Tribes Fast Attack will include a story-driven single player campaign and popular multiplayer modes like capture-the-flag, hunter, and others. Beloved Tribes trademarks such as wide-open outdoor arenas, air and land vehicles, powered armor, and jet pack-assisted movement (including enhanced "skiing") all return to deliver the fastest action of any online multiplayer game. Bundled with Tribes Fast Attack is an upgraded version of Tribes 2, including exclusive new mods Team Rabbit 2 - a furiously-fast game where passing and style are awarded heavily, and Competition Mod - with faster movement and recalibrated weapons especially designed for league and ladder play. Tribes Fast Attack's suggested price is $39.99 with a $20 mail-in-rebate for existing owners of Tribes 2. Of course, we all know "Due in September" means March -- two years from now. At least with the previous two tribes titles' track record. Only time will tell. |
