No Shanghai maglev
Friday, 16 January 2004

Well, maybe it would've been more expensive to implement, but I seriously think that they're being short-sighted here. I mean, the fuel costs saved alone would've been enough to justify it, imo. Plus, it would've been really cool to see such a big example of a working one ;)

"The scrapping of the 9-year-old maglev project — two weeks after the country's first maglev, a short stretch in Shanghai, began regular operation — represents a setback for the development of the technology in China, which many had seen as one of its key markets."
