I know everyone is shocked and amazed, but yes, it's true, Microsoft has found security flaws... This time with Windows Media Player v6.4 & 7.1, as well as in Windows XP. The most serious of them all allows an attacker to access your system with the ability to add, change & delete data and perform other functions. As if that wasn't bad enough, they also found 4 security flaws in it's e-commerce web-site building & management software (Commerce Server 2000), two of which were critical. But have no fear, MS has posted patches for everything, so the world is secure again.. The patch(es) for Media Player can be found here. The Commerce Server 2000 patch is available here. |
