Martin over at IANAG has written a very handy program that does all the paranoid things you'd like to do with your registry, but are too lazy or confused to try.

"Still, people are so lazy that they don't want to sort through things like the registry! For those kind of people we decided just writing a guide wasn't enough! We needed to build something that will just do it for them. Today is our first step in that direction. You probably won't be seeing more guides posted in the near future as I shift my focus over towards automating all the old guides before I work on new ones."
