Cell phone-decoded data from color images?
Thursday, 01 July 2004

This is crazy cool. Fujitsu has developed a way to embed numerical data inside a printed color image that you then decode with your cell phone. The applications they talk about are ingenious.

"The new technology, a form of steganography, embeds data by leveraging characteristics of the human eye, which has variances in sensitivity to color and size. Even 12-digit numerical data can be embedded into images as small as 1 square centimeter, Fujitsu said."
