Dell Goes Wide!

Dell has announced their latest edition to the Inspiron seiries of laptops. The Inspiron 8500 will follow Apple's lead and come equipped with a wide screen format. In an effort to one-up Apple, Dell is putting a 1680x1050 (1920x1200 optional). The laptop comes equipped with a 2Ghz P4-M, 512MB DDR. No word on the graphics chipset. The 8500 tips the scales at a hefty 6.9 pounds and is over 1.5" thick. It certainly isn't a TiBook, but it would be nice to have an x86 laptop that has the same screen format as my TiBook.
