Imagine a monitor 12" high by 40" wide, curved to 90 degrees around your filed of vision. This is the idea that Gary Starkweather has come up with to improve productivity. Starkweather has found that using a semicircular monitor three times as wide as the standard one can improve people's productivity, allowing them to take advantage of their peripheral vision and to spend less time opening and closing different windows. This is the guy who invented the laser printer, so we know that some of his ideas hold water. |
