GeekExtreme.com Wishes you a Merry Christmas (Or whatever you believe in.)

From the Staff at GeekExtreme, MERRY CHRISTMAS. If you do not believe in Christmas, then we wish you a merry/happy/good/etc of whatever it is you DO believe in. If you believe in none of these holidays, we hope you have a really nice day.

Whatever it is you do believe in, your support of GeekExtreme has been phenominal. We've successfully cleared three years of service, and as we enter our fourth, I have no doubt it will be our best ever. I especially want to thank Kenn Baynard for his continued role in GE's success. Without Kenn, GE would not be where it is today, nor would I have a job that I enjoy. (Long story.) In any case, Kenn has proved his worth to GE time and time again in the past year, and I cannot thank him enough.

I would also like to remember Norma (previously on staff here) for the year she dedicated herself to posting on GE almost daily. We have missed her since she departed for personal and medical reasons, and wish her nothing but the best in the years to come.

Next, I'd like to thank our readers. Without you, especially the ones who visit frequently and drop us notes of encouragement (or suggestions, or whatever), GE would not have a reason to exist in the first place.

Last, I'd like to thank the other sites that GE works with, specifically (but extending to all of the sites) Dave at ExtensionTech, Dan at The Hardwire, Nathan at TweakNews, Kyle at HardOCP, and the rest of the webmasters who've posted our news and offered us help.

Three years of my life, I have worked on GE now. I've hated it at times, I'll admit. But I've loved it to. I remember years ago, a SysOp (if you never used a BBS, you may not remember this term) wrote a piece entitled "So you want to be a SysOp" the first line was the title followed by "...Go ahead, shoot yourself in the foot." He was more right than anyone never undertaking such a task could know. What he failed to express was the sense of accomplishment that followed running a SUCCESSFUL BBS. Well, the same is true for the Editor (or Assistant Editor) of an online community such as GeekExtreme: It's trying, emotionally draining (and charging), a pain in the ass . . . it's also one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had. (Getting married and the birth of my son being two which beat it out.) I hope that in three years, I am sitting down at close to 1am, writing that the past six years have been wonderful on GE. This is, of course, mostly thanks to you, the readers. And Kenn. Without Kenn this site would suck.

Ok, I've been sappy enough for now. What I'm really trying to say is, Merry Christmas (or whatever it is you believe in) and Thank You All!
