| Radioactive battery provides decades of power |
| Wednesday, 23 October 2002 | |
| Imagine getting a small mechanical implant of some kind, whether it be a pace maker, or some other fancy device someone sees fit to implant into the human body, and never worrying about replacing the battery. Some scientist types at Cornell University in New York have found a way to make a very small battery powered by radioactive isotopes, that could last approximately 50 years. Even though is carries a radioactive sticker on it, the amount of radiation released is very small and may provide safe for human use. Now if they could just make a laptop battery that'll last 50 years........... (as I glace to see I have 63% power left) | |
