We've just enabled gzip compression on the GE web server. In a nut-shell what this will do is compress the site's elements and send it to you that way, then your browser will uncompress and assemble. Hopefully this will speed up load times for those of you who are on slower net connections. I will also do what I can to optimized the graphics and get them as tightly packed as possible (without killing image quality). If you experience any problems, or would like to report your load times (how long it takes the site to fully load & display), drop me an e-mail. Update: I've just shaved off as many bytes as I can (without nasty artifacting) on the graphics. Should speed up load times a bit. |
