The guys at HardwareSecrets do a bit of sleuthing to see exactly how much power your gadgets consume when they're "off." Some of the results are definitely surprising... yay power bills.

"Is it true that electronic equipments consume a lot of power when they are on their standby mode and presumably turned off? We took a digital power meter and measured the most common electronic equipments found at home to check this out."
