Intel and Cisco team for open source datacenter storage network spec

Good things are afoot in the data center storage business. Intel wants to whip both iSCSI & Fibre Channel in one blow. Not only that, they want the whole spec to be open-source.

"FCoE's purpose is to enable data centers to consolidate LAN and SAN (storage area network) traffic over 10GB Ethernet."
