Microsoft: DirectX10.1: no big deal

With the upcoming release of ATi cards touting DX10.1 compliance, I could certainly guess that nVidia would be down-playing the importance of DX10.1, but Microsoft?? I mean, didn't they just develop/update the spec? Was it not worth it for them to have put that effort forth or something?

"When asked about the advantages of picking up a DirectX 10 graphics adaptor today, versus waiting for NVIDIA or AMD DirectX 10.1 products, Microsoft's senior global director of Microsoft games on Windows, Kevin Unangst, replied, 'DX10.1 is an incremental update that won’t affect any games or gamers in the near future.'"
