Twenty-four days before the release of the iPhone, HTC has beaten Apple to the punch by releasing the "Touch," which sports a touch-sensitive interface very much like that of the iPhone. The Touch is a true smartphone, though, running on a Windows Mobile backbone.

"For example, swiping your thumb in an upward motion launches a page where you can access contacts, media, or applications; sweeping left to right rotates through the various functions; while you can close out of apps by swiping downward."
