Not only will R600 do dual-link HDCP, the Inq is saying that there's a reason for that ocean of bandwidth: an on-board sound chip. Yep, R600 will be able to run both DRM video and full-blown digital surround sound out of its HDMI, making it perfect for both Vista & an HTPC setup.

"In contrast, NV G8x parts can't do this. They have to run an external cable from the sound chip to the GPU. This may not sound like much but it blows out several kinds of auto configuration and worse yet violates Vista logo requirements."
