The guys at the Inq have summarized the findings of the german site Cynamite testing a pre-release PS3's backwards-compatibility with PS2 titles. Out of a dozen titles tested, only one actually worked; painting a not-so-bright future for the PAL PS3's.

"Sony announced over a week ago that the European version of the PS3 would not feature hardware-based backwards compatibility in the form of the PS2's Emotion Engine."
