16x dual-layer DVDs to hit the market
Written by t-readyroc

While I'm still waiting for dual-layer DVD media prices to drop, Ricoh has some good news on a different, but related front. They're releasing some DL-DVDs that will be 16x writable. Those lasers sure are getting fast these days, ain't they? Inevitably, the current generation of media will drop in price once these go to market. New burners? Or a firmware update?

"Delivery of the first samples for hardware manufacturers started on 7th March 2007. The market for DVD+R double layer blank discs more than doubled last year and the boom in demand has continued unabated."
