Intel to put pre-n into Centrino next year

I'd have hoped that by 2007, 802.11n would already have been certified, making all of these "pre-n" craptacular hardware kludges un-necessary. Especially since the "pre-n" stuff hitting shelves these days doesn't even come close to the expected 600mbps+ that everyone's expecting. At any rate, the news that a company as large as Intel is jumping on the "pre-n" wagon only means more headaches down the road if the standard changes before final ratification....

"Although the news caused barely a ripple of reaction in the audience of software and hardware engineers, there are industry analysts who have already warned large buyers of wireless technology to resist the temptation to deploy high speed IEEE 802.11n devices until the standard is ratified."
