Bob over at ThinkGaming actually went out & interviewed a couple of the people waiting in line for the PS3 last night. Only two of the handful of people that they interviewed actually said they'd be keeping the console; most were planning to sell it on eBay for a profit.

"With all of the excitement and stores shipments getting cut, and cut again only a handful of people would be getting the system on launch day.  For this reason the die-hard Sony fans and people looking to make money selling the system on e-bay headed to their local stores to camp out and be the first in line to get the system."
 

UPDATE: There's a PS3 on eBay that just broke the $20K mark.  42 bids & 25 minutes left.  Unbelievable.

UPDATE 2: There've apparently been several other PS3 madness biddings, ending in as high as $100million.   Also, the guys at Kotaku were unfortunately witness to an attempted robbery for a PS3 at the midnight sale that they went to.  Get a hold of yourselves, people!
