Native CrossFire examined at HardwareSecrets

With the advent of the X1950 Pro (which you should've seen plenty of in our latest couple of review roundups), ATi has gone native with its CrossFire setup. The guys at HardwareSecrets take a look at the technology behind ditching the dongle.

"What ATI has done was to embed the CrossFire controller on the GPU. So on cards based on the new Native CrossFire no “master” card is necessary, as the driver decides which video card will be the 'master' and which will be the 'slave'."
