Nokia's Wibree unveiled
Written by t-readyroc

WiBro? 802.11n? Nope, neither. Wibree is Nokia's "next-gen" implementation of bluetooth that apparently uses one-tenth the power of the current bluetooth technology.

"Wibree operates at a range of up to 10 meters and with a data rate of 1-Mbit per second and uses a 2.4-GHz carrier in the license-free ISM band. Nokia is suggesting it could be implemented as a stand-alone chip or as Bluetooth-Wibree dual-mode chip."
