Standard for OTA mobile phone firmware updates published
Written by t-readyroc

The governing body for such things has just published the standard that will allow everyone to update their phone software over the air sometime in the new future. FUMO will allow such things as Windows Update to run for Windows Mobile-based phones, as well as vendor-specific firmware updates to fix that pesky bluetooth issue you've been having.

"The Open Mobile Alliance has published its Firmware Update Management Object (FUMO): a standard which allows mobile phones to be updated over the air - from fixing a spelling mistake to changing the whole OS, all without bothering the user at all."
