Page 1 of 4 The Medusa 5.1 Surround Home Headset moves the amplifier off of the headphone cable & places it alongside an external, two-source switch. The quality of packaging & manufacturing are the same as those we found on Medusa's Pro Gamer 5.1 headset that Dak reviewed a few weeks back, but this headset is aiming squarely at your home PC and home theatre.
The Home version of Medusa's 5.1 headset was very (& I mean extremely) well-packaged. Here we have a look at the front & back of the external box. Yes, "external," because there's yet another box in there holding your precious headset & protecting it from those mean ol' shipping guys.
Once you open the external box, you find a large black box inside, which basically uses the external box as a shell. Inside the interior box, we find the trademark red ribbon tying down the headset & the manual. Along with the red ribbon, which we also saw in the Pro Gamer, the Home version of Medusa's headset is enshrouded in a black, velveteen material. Very classy.
