Vulnerability found in Quake3 engine
Written by t-readyroc
Wednesday, 05 July 2006
A "highly critical" vulnerability has been uncovered in the Quake 3 engine that could not only compromise a user's system, but be used as a basis for DDoS attacks. It's a boundary error in one of the server commands, & would lead to a buffer overflow if one was so inclined. There is no solution posted as of yet except to "only connect to trusted servers."
