AMD releases Turion X2
Written by t-readyroc
Wednesday, 17 May 2006

The delays are over, & the Turion X2 has been launched. AMD finally has a dual-core, 64-bit CPU to compete with Intel's Core Duo in the mobile market place. Now, let's see some numbers!

"With the Turion 64 X2 Mobile, AMD has migrated from Socket 754 to the new mobile specific S1 socket. This leaves existing owners of Turion 64 based notebooks with no dual-core upgrade path."

Ouch... that kinda sucks.
