Cook my breakfast, CPU!!
Tuesday, 15 February 2005

Heh. When I first saw the subject line of this email, I thought it was a review of something. Oh, how wrong I was. Good stuff here.

"Welcome to the 21st century. The age of conservation, renewable materials and Jolene Blalock. As we're urged to replace our gaming equipment on a weekly basis, many tonnes of silicon, lead, and copies of Daikatana make it into our planet's landfills. Aspiring to save the planet but don't know how? Why not do it over breakfast with your very own energy-efficient CPU-powered hotplate."

Lockup & BSOD during Gates' speech at CES
Thursday, 06 January 2005

This bit of news is just absolutely hilarious. What more could you ask for if you're no fan of Bill Gates? He's just written the next few months of jokes all by himself in one sitting.

"During a demonstration of digital photography with a soon-to-be-released Nikon camera, a Windows Media Center PC froze and wouldn't respond to Gates' pushing of the remote control. Later in the 90-minute presentation, a product manager demonstrated the ostensible user-friendliness of a video game expected to hit retail stores in April, Forza Motor Sport. But instead of configuring a custom-designed race car, the computer monitor displayed the dreaded 'blue screen of death' and warned, 'out of system memory.'"

RIAA & MPAA on the ''naughty'' list this year
Tuesday, 21 December 2004

Great stuff here. Nothing says, "you suck," like a stocking full of coal during the holidays, right?

" Downhill Battle , a file-sharing activist group from Worcester, Mass., has launched an Internet campaign to send lumps of coal to the Recording Industry Association of America and the Motion Picture Association of America . The group said it will send a brick of unsightly coal for every $100 that people donate to digital rights defense groups Electronic Frontier Foundation , Public Knowledge and IPac ."

Oops, I crushed my phone
Monday, 06 December 2004

If you were to ponder the most common cell phone accidents, would "being crushed by tight jeans" be one of the causes you'd think of?

"I have a relatively old mobile phone that has taken one too many falls. Last month, while traveling, I ended up dropping it on the pavement, snapping the part that holds the "flip" part of the flip phone. Amazingly enough, a little crazy glue got it back together and working without too much trouble. Many others, however, are not so lucky."
