Aiming to Hook Up Every Home to the 'Net

SEOUL (Reuters) - Aiming to hook up every household to the Internet, South Korea unveiled plans on Wednesday for telecom companies to invest $10.9 billion in high-speed broadband networks by 2005.

Happy Halloween everybody!

Did you know that Ghosts may be using your computer? Apparently, they prefer Windows machines, although they've been spotted on just about every type of computer. The first ever "experience" with this was on a Commodore 64, apparently. There's not much explaination for an incident that happened in the 70's on an old Commodore, but if you have a wireless keyboard, this may be a more likely explaination.

Intel to launch 3GHz P4 next month

Intel's Pentium 4 processor is set to reach 3GHz on 14 November. The chip, which will run at 3.06GHz, will also be the first desktop processor to include hyperthreading, the performance enhancing technology already found in Xeon server processors, that allows multiple software threads to run more efficiently on a single processor. Linus Torvalds and the State of the Linux Kernel

I came across this and thought it was quite interesting. It talks about the Linux Kernel (2.6) and what Linus has to say about it's devolopment. Currently, the 2.6 version of the linux kernel is expected in June.

What was more interesting, though, was Linus dissing Intel for abandoning 32-bit alltogether, and praising AMD for it's backwards-compatible approach to 64-bit computing. Read the full article to find out all the details.
