Grokker - search the web visually
Written by t-readyroc
Thursday, 16 June 2005

Grokker has finally gone public with their initial release. It's powered by Yahoo! Search, & is an entirely different way to search the web - graphically. Very cool idea, I just wonder if it'll catch on...

"Grokker returns query results organized into a visual map. Click on any category to 'zoom in' and explore its contents. Click outside of a category’s border to zoom back. Click the TOP button to return to the top level of the map."

Inside ASUSTeK with Hexus
Written by t-readyroc
Wednesday, 15 June 2005

Ever wondered what the test benches look like inside ASUSTeK? The lucky Hexus bastards.... I mean... chaps (yeah, that's it ;P) actually got to see them for themselves. Not only were they privvy to the test benches, but the ASUS crew had a couple of their dual-GPU cards up & running for the guys to benchmark.

"3DMark was run through on both cards at default settings and then at 1280x1024 with 4x Antialiasing and 16x Anisotropic Filtering with all quality settings in the device driver set to maximum. We also ran the EN6800GT through overclocked to ULTRA speeds."

Tuesday, 14 June 2005
Paul Capello (a.k.a. "Crimson Sky") over at TCBS has posted a new project, titled, "Nighthawk." Holy crap does it look incredible. If you're into flight sims, this one's definitely all about you. You can read the official press blurb here, & see the work log here. The case was apparently contracted by CableOrganizer.com. The work log's got even more incredible pics.

Hexus launches gaming site
Written by t-readyroc
Friday, 10 June 2005

Hexus is launching a new part of their website dedicated entirely to the gaming community. This new section will include gaming news & reviews from our friends across the pond. Check it out.

"Despite the segregation into its own channel, HEXUS.gaming still has close ties with HEXUS.core. After all, you'll want to know what hardware is up to running the games we review, won't you? Gaming has even had an influence on DV editing, with editing programs like Tenomichi 3D Edit, (as reviewed by DVdoctor), using the same DirectX 9 acceleration for effects as the latest PC games! We can safely say that gaming has earned its own HEXUS.channel."
