Designtechnica's got a look at what's in store for all of us this year in terms of the video end of consumer electronics. Come oooooooooooooonnnnnn SEDTV's.... (I know, I know, but I can still hope, dammit).

"We take a look at some home video products set to be introduced later this year. HP has an LCD TV with an integrated Media Center PC and RCA has a plasma made out of wood!"

 
Final Fantasy 12 at OCModShop

The OCModShop crew has an early look at Final Fantasy 12 up for your perusing pleasure this morning.

"Square Enix continues to push the limits of graphics and sound, even in this bite-sized demo. I found that the battles are a little more difficult than before, however they shouldn’t be difficult enough to discourage the Final Fantasy rookie. The story is told through cut scenes, where the graphics are second to none."

Whoa... this concept sounds just crazy enough to work. Imagine being able to choose from 100 movies at any time you wanted, & play the one you wanted instantly? Now, if they incorporated some kind of learning into the software to tailor the downloaded movies to the specific customer, they'd almost certainly have a winner on their hands...

"It comes preloaded with 100 mainstream movies across multiple genres and downloads 10 new movies a week - some new, some older popular favorites - via over-the-airwaves data casting technology which is carried on top of an existing PBS broadcasting infrastructure managed by National Datacast."
