Review: A year living wth A Dell ! Not Adell :)
Sunday, 18 August 2002

Probably one of the more interesting reviews we've gotten lately, but a good read none the less.  One of the lads over at Techseekers spent their life savings to buy a Dell laptop, and in time, did a review of it.

I bought my Inspiron last summer for an amount of money I'd rather not repeat as this machine was top of the range and thus very, VERY expensive. Saving? What's that? I had to sell off my old desktop to help me afford it, I was quite sad to see it go but that's life. I will admit that at first I didn't really think the laptop was much better than the desktop. It was slower, the screen was good but I preferred my old Dell 17" Trinitron and the hard drive was about half the speed of my old machine. I had begun to think the investment was a bad idea; what did I need a laptop for? All I do is play games, surf the web and listen to music! For the first month or two I was working so I left the laptop sitting on the desk next to my old desktop. It played music and I listened, the same as my old desktop.

Crazy PC Window Kit & Appliqué review @ ThinkComputers
Thursday, 15 August 2002

ThinkComputers reviews (and of course installs) a window kit and an Appliqué from Crazy PC.  They did a very good job going over how to cut the hole and install the window.  Very good read if you're looking at putting a window in your box (like I am).

This window kit is a great project for the do-it-yourselfer kind of person. It doesn't require allot of tools to complete a project like this. Maybe an afternoon or so, a Dremel and masking tape. This mod is not a expensive project for the average person to complete. The 12"x12" window kit that you seen is this review sells for $17.95, and the appliqué's in many styles and shapes sell for $8.95.

Wireless reviews
Thursday, 15 August 2002

HardwareMasters has a new review up about Actiontec's Wireless offerings: the USB and PCMCIA 802.11b cards.

It's almost the end of summer, but not the end of our Summer of Wireless series of reviews. This round, we are featuring two cards from Actiontec: the Wireless USB and PCMCIA cards. Though a PCMCIA card is generally used in laptops, the USB card can be used on either a laptop or desktop. Both have their advantages.

Albatron KX400+ Pro Motherboard Review
Thursday, 15 August 2002

AusPCWorld spits out another review, this time the Albatron KX400+ Pro Motherboard, supposedly the first DDR 400 board to hit the market.

Today we look at the new KX400+Pro motherboard offering from Albatron, the first DDR 400 motherboard on the market! This board features FSB 533Mhz, Dual Bios and more. You may not have heard of Albatron before but this company appears to me emerging as a strong Motherboard manufacturer. Let's take a look
