Stuck on a video game?
Written by t-readyroc
Wednesday, 10 August 2005

I found this very cool site via Digg. If you're stuck on a video game, & are getting frustrated all to hell, StuckGamer can help you out. These guys post walkthroughs for video games, but not in the traditional text file way... they have actual in-game footage streaming from their site directly to you... very cool idea.

"Our video walkthroughs stretch far beyond the restrictions and limitations of traditional strategy guides. You see exactly what happens on the screen as an expert shows you the way through every second of gameplay. Intricate details, hints and even more expert strategy is shown in text right below the movie as it plays."

Ubisoft will be producing a game that'll run on the engine that has a scheduled release of summer 2006. Cool.

"It is, Ubisoft claim, the world's first fantasy action game to feature a complete first-person combat system. The game promises to take full advantage of the Source Engine's exceptional technological enhancements in areas such as character animation, advanced AI, real-world physics and shader-based rendering."

LanFest 2K5 coverage at BoxGods

The BoxGods crew was lucky enough to get in on the LanFest 2K5 action that was going on in Pasadena last weekend. For those of ya not aware, this is the event that was thrown by Newegg.

"I didn’t make it into the tournament area, but the tournament games being shown on large screen kicked ass. Rows of couches were set up theater style for everyone to enjoy the show. And the action was unreal. CounterStrike Source and CounterStrike 1.6 each had 16 teams of 5. Call of Duty had 8 teams of 5. From the few awards I saw being handed out, the teams where made up of players from all over the US."

Sony's released the 2.0 firmware for the PSP, which includes a Mozilla web browser. In order to update your PSP to version 2.0, you must have version 1.51 or lower currently installed on your PSP, as there are apparently some compatibility issues. The OSNews link includes a shot of the browser in action (7th comment). Read about all of the changes & fixes here, & download the 2.0 update here.
