Resistance 2 Beta Signups; Anti-Spore Christians
Written by t-readyroc

Go get your name in that for the Resistance 2 beta if you're so inclined. Kotaku's reporting that you can sign up now on the game's official site, that spots are likely limited, & that you'd better act fast if you want in.

You can now apparently throw some christians into the mix of Spore-haters. Yep, DRM-haters are no longer alone in their quest, though the motives are clearly from different ends of the spectrum.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
Written by t-readyroc

Monolith successfully regained control of the rights to the F.E.A.R. name, so Project Origin is now F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (like it should have been to start with).

"Why not drop the Project Origin name altogether? Well, for one, there has already been quite a bit of branding associated with that name, but more importantly, when Monolith lost the F.E.A.R. name it asked its community for suggestions to replace it. In a contest, Project Origin was chosen, and thus, the name has ties to the F.E.A.R. community."

Dead Space: No Known Survivors

I'm surprised I hadn't yet heard of noknownsurvivors.com, because I've watched all of the animated comics for the game so far, & am really looking forward to this game. I guess I missed it somewhere along the way, but at any rate, the site is huge, full of crazy animations, & looks like it will be interactive. Several of the terminals in the first two episodes require passwords. I haven't played around with it enough yet, but I'm sure I'll be re-visiting it as new episodes are released. Thanks to SG for the heads-up.

According to BluesNews, Spore pre-loads have begun. Anyone who's ordered their game through the EA storefront will be able to get the majority of the game content loaded before the September 7 release date.

"When the game goes live on those dates, these customers will be able to complete download and installation to begin playing within 30-60 minutes."
