The Reg is reporting that we'll likely see ATi's answer to the 7950GX2 officially announced tomorrow. According to the previously published benchmarks, the X1950 ought to bring the performance crown back to Canada, or wherever the red camp's calling home these days (Sunnyvale?).

"Debut dates we're hearing are 4 and 14 September, with an emphasis now on the latter, and boards based on the GPUs may cost more than ATI is forecasting."

Anton over at Xbit has it on the sly that we'll be seeing yet another model from nVidia based on their GeForce 7 chip in the near future. Take this one with a grain of salt.

"According to slides, which are presumably from Nvidia Corp., the company plans to released its GeForce 7950 GT product, which features 24 pixel processors, 8 vertex processors and 512MB of memory."

Holy crapola... this move would make ASUSTeK an enormous company; possibly just as big as Foxconn.

"Asustek's possible merger with Gigabyte is aimed to face rising competition from EMS provider Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry), whose motherboard shipments have drawn near the leading motherboard maker, indicated the sources."

Rumors & speculation fly at DigiTimes, which, if you follow the story, definitely seem to point in that direction.
