''Piracy'' explored at HardwareAnalysis
Wednesday, 09 February 2005

Needless to say, I kept reading the article after the first line. As always, good stuff by Sassy-Sander.

How to get the most out of your 9700M at ARP
Tuesday, 08 February 2005

Consider yourself a gamer if you've got a Mobility 9700 in your laptop. Consider yourself a hardcore gamer if you head on over to ARP & see what Adrian's got to say about maxxing out that 9700M. Overclocking a mobile chip? Sure, why not?

"While the core clock speed was close to the maximum rated clock speed, the memory clock was really low at only 216MHz. Naturally, that reduced its performance by limiting the amount of memory bandwidth available to the GPU. The Mobility Radeon 9700 was basically memory-limited in the BenQ Joybook 7000."

Telecommuting explored at Designtechnica
Monday, 07 February 2005

Telecommuting would be so sweet. Unfortunately, if something breaks around here, I'm the guy that needs to show up at their office door with a smile on my face.... heh. Anyhow, the Designtechnica crew have posted an article that lays down several plans for setting up an office from home if you should have the opportunity to do so.

"Now, with greater power than ever in laptops and the newer portable workstations, you can be at work while physically sitting at home. Ideally, it is like having extremely long extension cords on your mouse, monitor and hard drive. Whatever you do at home is reflected on your system at work. This article explores several ways you can telecommute from home using several different programs and solution."
